Local Weather Information

The weather in the Cowichan Valley is great in the summer, temperatures range from 17 C at night, to highs of 30 C in the daytime. In mid-summer; rainfall is quite low. The winter rains begin in early in October or late September and last until late May. Heavy snowfall is not too common except in the higher mountain regions. We are located approximately 600 feet above sea level, giving us a little more snow than the coastal areas receive. Over the past few winters, we have had periodic snow falls wich last from a few days to a week. Snow is quickly cleared up by the rains shortly after. Although living in Canada in the winter can be a winter wonderland, we here on the west coast don't have to shovel it too often!
